Brinellgymnasiet in english / About Us
Brinellgymnasiet is an upper secondary school situated in the municipality of Nässjö. Our school is a public school with approximately 1700 students and about 200 teachers. The school was built in 1971 and renovated in 2007. The school is named after Johan August Brinell who was an internationally renowned scientist specializing in metallurgy.
Brinellgymnasiet offers a wide range of theoretical and vocational programmes at upper secondary level, adult education as well as education for adults with learning disabilities.
The school gives the students the opportunity of combining their studies with first-class athletic training in sports such as bandy, bowling, football, basketball and ice-hockey. For students interested in music, Brinellgymnasiet provides different advanced courses.
Brinellgymnasiet is involved in international projects throughout Europe. For several years the school has participated in the European mobility and exchange project Comenius for students and teachers.
Every year students and teachers receive about 250 000 Swedish kronor in scholarships from the foundation Öhrskogs gymnasiestiftelse.
At Brinellgymnasiet we are conscious of our responsibilities of maintaining high level of facilities and equipment. In addition to classrooms and study rooms, there is a modern library with computer and Internet access and a full range of learning resources. These facilities enable students to reach their goals.
